I’d like to know when Marcotte Avenue in Lewiston became a drag strip? Visitors at my home have commented on it. Vehicles turn onto this road from Webster Street or the park and drive just as fast as they can from one to the other.

People walk their children and their pets, or just go walking by themselves in the area, and I am afraid that, one of these days, someone will get hit.

The drivers are from all walks of life. Some cars have business names on them. Some are headed to the arena, by the looks of the stickers on their windows. Some are even city- or state-owned.

Can’t the city do something before something awful happens?
