LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will host an advanced Ethical and Technical Issues Workshop for the Site Evaluator on Friday, March 26, at the Ramada Inn. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and workshop sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost is $75 each person. The fee includes training materials, lunch, and breaks.

The workshop staff and guest speakers will discuss ethical and technical subjects experienced by designers of subsurface wastewater disposal systems. The ethics portion will focus on a site evaluator as consultant versus client advocate.

Technical topics will include calculation of fill and fill extensions, site evaluation requirements on filled sites, on-site monitoring of seasonal high groundwater and determining whether a system is engineered or can be designed by a site evaluator.

Participants may register with JETCC at www.jetcc.org for course #J1021, by Friday, March 12, to avoid a late fee of $15. Checks made payable to JETCC can be mailed to P.O. Box 487, Scarborough, ME 04070-0487.
