American Red Cross Lifeguard Training offered at the YWCA

Lewiston-The YWCA of Central Maine will be offering American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. The class sessions will take place on February 28, March 7, March 14, and March 21 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This course teaches students the knowledge and skills essential to prevent, and if necessary, respond to aquatic emergencies appropriately. This course includes American Red Cross CPR/AED for professional rescuers and standard first aid.

Participants must be at least 15 years of age and complete a 300 yard swim and timed deep water object removal prerequisite to starting the course. The prerequisite tests will take place on the first day of classes.

Members of the YWCA pay $225 for the four week session and non-members pay $250 for the four week session. Space is limited and registrations need to be in by February 23. For more information or to register, call the YWCA of Central Maine at 795-4050 or via email at [email protected]
