Danielle Ardys Wood
1991 – 2010

LEWISTON — Danielle Ardys Wood, 18, of Leeds, formerly of Litchfield, died March 5, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 18, 1991, to Charles E. Wood II and Elaine (Footman) Wood. Danielle was educated in Litchfield and Leeds schools and attended Leavitt Area High School. She graduated from Leavitt Adult Education with her class in June 2009.

Her plans were to attend college this fall to begin working toward her nursing degree. During her short life, Danielle played softball, baseball and did cross country skiing. She was a Girl Scout, she trapped and was very proud to have testified in Augusta at the Maine State Legislature to keep bear trapping.

She loved family and friends and loved getting them together to eat. Her greatest joy was children; she was a natural magnet to them no matter where she was.

She is survived by her parents of Leeds; her sister, Bobbie Jean Banton, her husband, Dalton and their children, Kamar, Jodi, Victoria Bragg, Mariah, Carlton and Aneeda of Litchfield; her sister, Desiree (Footman) Knowles, her husband, Daniel and their children, Alyssia Cyr, Kate and Alex of Manchester; her sister, Amanda Herr and husband, Shawn; her brother, Caleb Wood of Leeds; special cousins, Nicholas Trinh of Leeds and Benett Trinh of Orono; the love of her life, her daughter, Hollylynn Wood; many aunts, uncles and cousins; a large extended family; and many friends.

She was predeceased by Melissa Jo Wood, Holly Trinh and Charles and Laura Wood Sr.

A special thanks to her cousin, Ryan for his help, support and being with us at this time. Also to Dr. Teng, the staff of the emergency room and the ICU for their care and compassion.
