Earlier this year, associates from Auburn Wal-Mart and managers from the Wal-Mart Distribution Center presented four checks totalling $2,750 to the city of Auburn and Great Falls Balloon Festival as part of a Wal-Mart Employee Event Grant. A $2,000 check was presented on behalf of all Wal-Mart employees who participated. In addition, three $250 checks were presented in the names of Wal-Mart Associate David Stetson, Associate Janice Leonard and Human Resources Director Irma McGuinness because each of them volunteered more than 30 hours at the Balloon Festival. Wal-Mart associates and managers volunteered more than 200 hours at the 2009 Great Falls Balloon Festival. This grant will be used to help offset some of the cost of the 2010 festival. Presenting the three $250 checks are, from left, Stetson, McGuinness, Great Falls Balloon Festival Treasurer Mell Hamlyn, Leonard, and Auburn Mayor Richard Gleason.
