Estelle F. Breton

1919 – 2010

LEWISTON — Estelle F. Breton, 90, of Lewiston, died March 17, peacefully at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in St. Zacharie, Quebec, Sept. 28, 1919, a daughter of Treffle and Anna (Dubois) Faucher. She married Victor Emmanuel Breton in St. Zacharie, Quebec, June 3, 1937. They honeymooned in Lewiston before settling down in Canada.

In 1945, they moved to Lewiston and together they raised their family until his death in 1998. Besides raising her family, she spent most of her working career in the shoe industry as a fancy stitcher for Billing Shoe. She was an active member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

In earlier years, she was a member of “La Rencontre” a Franco American social group. She loved hunting, fishing, gardening and knitting. She especially loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is survived by her two children, her son, Gaetan Breton and his wife, Karon, of Lewiston; her daughter, Pauline Morin and her husband, Rene, of Lewiston; three brothers, Leo, Albert and Roland; seven sisters, Therese Guay, Marie-Annette Gagne, Laurette Turgeon, Jeannine Labbe, Antoinette Gagne, Noelline Lapointe and Lise Faucher; five grandchildren, Steven, Gaetan Jr., Denis, Charlene and Adam; five great-grandchildren, Chantale, Joseph, Brianna, Kyle and Zachary; and one great-great-grandchild, Dominick.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Victor of 61 years; her daughter, Gisele; her sons, Lucien and Ivan; and several brothers and sisters.
