This is in response to Bill Berlinghoff’s letter, published March 15.

Since I rarely listen to Rush Limbaugh and “the Cheney kid,” I will primarily focus on what he said about Glenn Beck.

I have watched most of Beck’s television shows since he was on HLN in the summer of 2006, and I have yet to hear any of the “bigoted, slanderous, anti-American ravings” that Berlinghoff referred to. Perhaps he could cite one, in case I missed it.

By the way, Beck is a conservative, not a Republican.

As for his comment on “today’s Republican leadership,” Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, while respectable people, are not mainstream Republicans.

In fact, they are maybe two steps from being blue-dog Democrats.
