Work is progressing on the bell tower renovation project at the Deering United Methodist Church on Route 26 in Paris. The bell tower on the Gothic Revival-style church, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is being partially removed by Stone Age Masonry workers to re-mortar the granite. Paul Curtis, of Stone Age Masonry in Sabattus, lower left, took a lunch break with employees Nate Baril, upper right, and Mike Rancourt during a recent warm day. Curtis said the material covering the tower is expected to be removed shortly.
