Easter activities

OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church, 29 Poplar St., will host a free Easter event at 6 p.m. Friday, April 2. There will be a collection plate for a free will offering. The event will open with the Sunday school kids singing a medley, followed by three skits along with music. After the event, a time of refreshments will be held downstairs for any wishing to attend.

The church will hold a sunrise service at 6 a.m. Easter followed at 8 a.m. by an Easter breakfast. The regular adult Sunday school will follow, taught by Charlie Pearl at 9:15, followed by the regular Sunday worship service at 10:15.

Gift shop open

PARIS — The Thrifty Gift Shop, 659 Park St., is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. There are Easter baskets for children and adults and other Easter items.

The shop benefits the Families In Crisis Task Force Food Pantry. The food pantry’s new hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Thursdays. If an emergency food basket is needed, call Peggy at 357-7072.

First aid classes

OXFORD — Heartsaver CPR and first aid classes will be held at the Oxford Public Safety Building, 701 Main St. on April 17, May 15 and June 12. The classes will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants must attend on one of the dates to receive a certificate, which is accepted for daycare providers, foster parents, Maine Guides, forestry and other non-health care related positions.

Animal auditions

PARIS — Animal auditions will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School auditorium for an opportunity for a pet to perform in the Responsible Pet Care Benefit Show.

The Shelter Show will be held on Friday, May 7.

All animals need to be on a short leash, and owners need to be prepared for any clean-ups.

Rummage sale

PARIS — A spring rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 10, in the Good Cheer Hall of the South Paris Universalist Church, Pine Street.

Clean spring and summer clothing and items, including books, toys, tools, collectibles, linens and foot wear, will be arranged for sale at bargain prices. Furniture is sometimes available. A bag sale will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Garden tea party

HARTFORD — A Spring Butterfly Garden Tea Party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at the Hartford Town Hall.

There will be tea and pastries, jewelry-making, a silent auction and a musical performance. The cost is $3 a person. The event is sponsored by Hartford Community Church. Call to reserve a table at 224-7355.
