OES meeting

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Corley Anne Byras, grand secretary, will speak on the financial part of grand chapter.

The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome. Pine Cone has the Travel Emblem for District 4.

Travelers meeting

MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Ashley House of Bucknam Oaks. A potluck supper will follow the business meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

LEWISTON — The Huguenot Society of Maine will meet at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at DaVinci’s Restaurant, 150 Mill St. Attendees will order lunch from the menu. Reports will be given and an election of needed officers. All members and interested persons are invited to attend.

Cribbage results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 1 were: first, Ed Madden and Linda Dostie Scott; second, Guy Dube, two-player table; third, Lorraine Fillion and Robert Cielinski; fourth, Gene Brown, two-player table; fifth, Hope Hughes and Joan Sampson.

The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 8.

Retired educators

LEEDS — The Androscoggin Retired Educators Association will meet on Wednesday, April 14, at the Leeds Community Church. The business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Gweneth Strout, state president, will be the speaker. After lunch, Hugh Keene will present the Readers Theatre staring Keene and his cast.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 5 were as follows: first, Nancy Lindgren and Pete Cummings; second, Alberta Turner and Anna Vitiello; third, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; first in B, Roger Labbe and Larry Fortier. 

Games are played at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.
