OXFORD — The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District offers products giving residents opportunities to enrich soil, plant seedlings and reduce water usage through its  annual fundraising program. Order forms are available at www.oxfordswcd.net or call Jane at 743-5789, 1. Orders and payment are required by Thursday, April 8.

The Earth Machine compost bin (costing $75 plus tax) is a tool for composting nearly 25 percent of the average household’s waste made up of kitchen scraps and yard trimmings. The rain barrel (costing $90 plus tax) collects rain water, reduces erosion from roof storm water runoff and provides water for seedlings and gardens.Ordering both provides a savings of $16.

The conifer seedlings are a bare root stock (in bundles of 10). The pickup date for these items will be on Tuesday, May 11. Another activity for the family is stocking privately owned ponds with brook or rainbow trout, which will be available for pickup on May 11 and the rainbow trout will be picked up on May 18.
