DURHAM — Residents will be voting on more than the state primary candidates and the RSU 5 school budget on June 8.

Voters will be going back to the polls on June 8 to fill two vacancies on municipal boards, one selectmen and the other a seat on the RSU 5 Board of Directors.

Selectman Daniel Hume resigned after the filing deadline for the regular election, as did RSU 5 Board of Directors member Melinda McKechnie, who has moved out of town.

Selectmen appointed James Beaulieu to her term until the June 8 election.

Nomination papers are now available at the town office for anyone interested in running for the two openings and must be filed  no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 29, Town Clerk Shannon Plourde said.

Both openings will expire in April 2012. For further information, call Plourde at 353-2561 ext. 11.

In other town business, a three-way tie between Jane Blais, James Beaulieu and Charles Pollack in Friday’s municipal election for a seat on the RSU 5 Board of Directors was selected Monday afternoon, Plourde said. Beaulieu had already been appointed to fill an opening on the board and Pollack withdrew his name, which allowed Blais to claim the seat. She was administered the oath of office late Monday afternoon and said she would be attending the board meeting Monday night.

Also selectmen announced they will be meeting for a workshop 6:30 p.m, Tuesday at the town office.
