LEWISTON — George J. Jalbert died on Dec. 21, 2009.

He was born in Bath, May 4, 1916, to George and Roseanna Morin Jalbert. He had recently resided at Oak Park Apartments in Lewiston.

He is survived by a son, Maurice of Wilton; grandchildren, Maurice Jalbert Jr. and Melissa Lamontagne and husband, Billy, of Auburn; one great-grandchild, Jade Lamontagne; brothers, Rosaire and wife, Theresa, of Lewiston and Marcel and wife, Helen, of Vernon, Vt.; sisters, Cecile Grenier and Teresa Plante and husband, Joseph, of Waterville; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jalbert of Lewiston and Monique Jalbert of Auburn; daughter-in-law, Patricia Willette of Poland; many nieces and nephews; his extended family of three stepsons, Peter Grenier and wife, Dolly P., of Lewiston, John Grenier and wife, Dolly J., of Monmouth and Edmund Grenier and wife, Connie, of Auburn; six stepdaughters, Mugette Tibbitts and husband, Don, of Blue Hill, Madeline Ouellette and husband, Bob, of Auburn, Jeannette Nolin of Auburn, Lorraine Cromer and husband, Travis, of Kentucky, Virginia Brown of Florida, and Jackie Caron and husband, Don, of Auburn; 25 step-grandchildren; 37 step-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; and many stepnieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Driscoll; second wife, Elsie Bellmore Grenier; brothers, Emile, Dominique and Robert; and sisters, Helena Lebrun, Emeretienne (Rose) Jalbert and Antoinette Caron.
