Public supper

PARIS — The Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will host a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Paris Fire Station, Western Avenue, South Paris.

The menu will include pork roast, mashed potato with gravy, vegetables, salad, applesauce and assorted homemade desserts. There will be macaroni and cheese and hot dogs for kids. Cost for adults is $7; ages 4 to 12, $4; 3 and under, free. There will be a 50/50 raffle.

Cuban celebration

NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library Children’s Room will celebrate the culture of Cuba at ¡Fiesta Cubano! on Tuesday, April 13.

Children in grades one to six are invited to come to the library from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. to learn about the island nation, make a musical instrument, play along to salsa and other Cuban music, listen to Cuban folktales and play Cuban games.

It is a drop-off program and space is limited. Parents must preregister by visiting the Children’s Room at the library, 258 Main St. or calling 743-5308. For more information, visit www.norway.lib.me.us.

Society meeting

NORWAY — The Norway Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the society building, 471 Main St. The public is invited to attend and find out more about what has happened during 2009 as well as what is being planned for 2010.

The society is a volunteer organization and new participants are welcome to bring in new ideas and opportunities for programs. The agenda will include an announcement about a new scholarship being offered by the society to a graduating senior from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

There will also be a report on the progress of saving the Gingerbread House and refreshments will be served to all who attend. For more information, contact Charles Longley at the society.

Grange degrees

OXFORD — Degree Day, sponsored by Androscoggin and Oxford Pomona Granges, will be held at 4 p.m Sunday, April 11, at the Oxford Grange. After the first and second degrees, a luncheon will be served for a small fee, followed by the third and fourth degrees.

Any subordinate granges with candidates are welcome to bring them to the meeting. For more information, call Steven Verrill at 998-2301.
