NEWRY — Sunday River announced recently the promotion of Nick Lambert to director of sales and marketing, effective immediately. He previously served as the brand manager for the Sunday River and Sugarloaf ski resorts.

Lambert started working at Sunday River in 1996 in the Sunday River’s sales department, where he focused on growing college and group business. Several years and promotions later, he moved into marketing and led the resort’s advertising and Web development programs.

In 2007, after Boyne Resorts purchased Sunday River and Sugarloaf, Lambert became the brand manager for both resorts. In this role, he developed creative strategies and was responsible for advertising and online marketing initiatives.

Lambert was also responsible for bringing to Sunday River such promotions and events as the Dumont Cup, Downtown Showdown and the quarterpipe where professional freeskier Simon Dumont broke the world record in 2007.

Lambert is a graduate from Colby College in Waterville and holds a degree in economics.
