LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met on April 12 at Murray Hall, with 29 members present.

The meeting began with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for deceased members and for the men and women serving in the Armed Forces.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture read a thank you note from the family of Maggie Dufour. Couture also announced the passing of another member, Lorraine Ouellette, whose funeral will be in May, a date to be set.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted. Rep. Paul Gilbert has made arrangements for the group to visit the Statehouse at 10 a.m. Monday, May 3. Those who wish to attend are to meet at 9 a.m. at Murray Hall to carpool.

Members were also reminded of the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for John and Alice Demoras, to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The 50/50 was won by Pauline Coombs. Refreshments were brought in by Joyce Richard and Marilyn DeSoto. Elvina Miller and Fernande Doiron have volunteered to bring the refreshments for the next meeting. After the meeting, a Chinese Auction was held, followed by games and cards.
