LISBON FALLS — Gisele L. Racine, 70, longtime resident of Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, April 15, peacefully at home after a seven-year battle with lung cancer.

She was born on April 22, 1939, in Grand Me’re, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Wilfrid and Eva (Domaine) Doucet. She was educated in Grand Anse, P.Q., Canada schools.

Mrs. Racine worked for many years as a weaver at the Miller Industries Textile Mill.

She was a longtime communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church of Brunswick. Gisele was a member of the VFW Post 9459 Auxilliary of Lisbon, Past Time and Snowshoe Social Club, the 20M Club and the Acme Social Club of Lewiston. Gisele enjoyed spending free time working on various sewing projects, but mostly enjoyed being together with her family playing UNO and cribbage.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Roland A. Racine, of Lisbon Falls; three children, Michael and his wife, Dawn Piche, of Texas, Aline and her husband, Robert Strout, of Lisbon Falls, and Jean Piche of Lisbon Falls; a stepson, Donald Racine, and his companion, Lynn Guyette, of Portland; a sister, Rolande Doucet, of Quebec, Canada; three sisters-in-law, Aliette Doucet, Jeanne D’Arc Doucet, and Claire Doucet, all of Canada; six granddaughters, Amada Strout, Amy Strout Waterman, Angel Strout, Kasey Piche Perron, Kristin Piche, and Kelsey Piche; a grandson, Ryan Strout; four great-grandchildren, Kane Katula, Chloe and Catherine Strout, and Hayleigh Perron; and many nieces and nephews of Canada.

She was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
