LEWISTON — Josephine Rose Lenahan, 93, of Mechanic Falls, died Sunday, April 18, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was born in Ansonia, Conn. on Dec. 4, 1916, the daughter of Ceasar and Nazarena Cicanni Migani. She attended school both in Ansonia and Derby, Conn. Josephine married Francis J. Lenahan on June 27, 1938. They moved to Mechanic Falls in 1946. Josephine was a devoted wife and mother who was a meticulous homemaker and a wonderful cook. Her passions were gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. At the age of 93 Josephine lived independently in her own home and still hung her laundry on the line. She was a devoted catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Ransom Church.

Josephine is survived by her five children, Francis and his wife, Linda, of Mechanic Falls, Joanne Cooper of Gardiner, Charles and his wife, Carol, of Plymouth,N.H., Colleen and her husband, Michael Baird, of Mechanic Falls, and Patricia Vincent of Poland; a sister, Mary; three brothers, Andrew, Charles and Reno, all of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Rose and Jenny; husband Francis; son-in-law, Edward Cooper, and a great granddaughter.
