AUBURN — Angela Durrell, 61, of Strong, passed away peacefully on April 17, at The Hospice House in Auburn after a brief illness. She was born on Aug. 25, 1948 in Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada. She married Wayne Durrell on Oct. 19, 1965 and moved to Maine shortly thereafter. After raising her five children she was employed at Sugarloaf for 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.

Angela is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wayne Durrell; her children, Dean Durrell and wife, Lori, of Madrid, Daniel Durrell of Strong, Derrick Durrell of Strong, Donald Durrell of Rangeley, and Denise Durrell Fast and husband, Robert, of Freeport; her grandchildren, Brandon, Brookelyn, Brittney, Chad, and Hayden; her siblings, Joe Hynes of British Columbia, Percy Hilliard of Ontario, Bern Schabell and husband, Ken, of Newfoundland, and Alfred Hilliard of Newfoundland; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Mary Ellen Hilliard, and her sister, Margie Hilliard. Angela will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was a kind and caring person who gave generously. Everyone enjoyed her great sense of humor, which she maintained throughout her short illness.
