LEWISTON — Malcolm “Mac” Henry Wallace, 80, a resident of Hartford passed away unexpectedly May 1, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Mac was born March 8, 1930, in West Point, Phippsburg, the son of Florence Wallace Skelton. He attended schools in Bowdoin and Lisbon Falls.

In August 1948, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict earning many medals including the Purple Star, the Silver Medal and five Bronze Service Stars. He also did paratrooper training in Japan later making nine combat jumps. He was honorably discharged May 1952.

He owned his own service stations for many years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Cole of Sumner; daughter, Deb and husband, Jerry, of Turner; sons, Randy and fiancée, Julie, of Buckfield, Tim and wife, Sue, of Sumner and Greg and wife, Birdi, of Hartford; granddaughters, Pam and husband, Brian, of Turner, Steph and husband, Mike, of Turner, Kristen and husband, Kevin, of St. Albans, Chelsea of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa and fiancé, John, of Madeira Beach, Fla., Missi and fiancé, Chris, of Hartford and Shawna of Buckfield; grandson, Sean of Livermore Falls; great-grandchildren, Cole, Nicholas, Madeline, Cooper, Ava, Thomas, Cameron, Jasmyn, Ross and Cory; brothers, Harold and companion, Diane, of Abbott; and sister, Angie of Bowdoin.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Sidney and Lendall.
