LISBON — Marcel E. Dutil, 85, of 6 Fortin Way, Lewiston, died Sunday, May 2, at the Lamp Nursing Home, after a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston, May 24, 1924, the son of Lucien and Adrienne Pare Dutil. Educated in local schools, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was married to the former Doreen Watson, who passed away in 1976. He later married the former Lucille Tardif of Lewiston.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a sales and account executive for Country Kitchen. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he also belonged to the American Legion and the Montagnard Club, and proudly served on the board of directors of the LA Twins. Always good with his hands, he was fond of all sorts of crafts.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Suzanne and husband, Raymond Duchette, of Lewiston; a stepdaughter, Madeleine and husband, Ronald Martel, of Lewiston; two brothers, Donatien “Don” Dutil of Lewiston and Raymond Dutil and wife, Linda, of Augusta; six grandchildren, Marc Duchette and wife, Rebekah, Nicole and husband, James Boulet, Celeste and husband, David Long, and Alicia, Sarah, and Jonathan Martel; and six great-grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Boulet, Catherine and Caroline Duchette, and Gwenyth and Kian Long.
