The Maine Republican State Convention is being held in Portland this weekend, with the majority of festivities falling on Friday and Saturday and taking place at the Portland Expo. Here’s a quick look at the schedule.

Friday, May 7

10:20 a.m. – Presentation of 2010 state Senate candidates

10:40 a.m. – Video message from U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe*

1:20 p.m. – Presentation of 2010 state House candidates

1:40 p.m. – Video message from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins*

2 p.m. – Speech by Dean Scontras, congressional candidate for Maine’s 1st District

2:20 p.m. – Speech by Jason Levesque, congressional candidate for Maine’s 2nd District

7 p.m. – Live debate by 2010 gubernatorial candidates, to be broadcast by Channel 13

Saturday, May 8

10:15 a.m. – Speech by Charlie Webster, chairman of the Maine Republican Party

10:40 a.m. – Presentation by Still Fed Up with Taxes group

1:20 p.m. – 3:40 p.m. – Speeches by all seven gubernatorial candidates

*Aides from both senators’ offices say Snowe and Collins will make their speeches in person if their vote schedule allows. They are both expected to be at the convention by Friday evening at the latest.
