Two major announcements down, one to go, and a host of other activity getting under way this week as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s busiest week arrives in Drummondville.

I’ve been to a pair of drafts, one each in Chicoutimi and in Charlottetown, and sadly I will not be able to get to this one live.

But please, no worries. We here at the SJ have lined up some live guests, and, like last year, we’ll keep up-to-date with all of the things happening at the draft via a live chat. We’ll be plugged in with team photographer Ron Morin, with long-time blogger and ticket-holder Mike Haggett, and with the draft table itself, featuring GM Roger Shannon, new minority owner Paul Spellman and several scouts who will give us their views on what’s happening on draft day.

They’ll also be able to answer some questions about the team’s vision, and about the team’s trades and player picks. The link to the draft-day chat will be posted right here in this space starting Friday afternoon, and we’ll go live a half hour before the draft starts, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Meanwhile, time to get a few more rounds of golf in…more on that to follow early next week, as I have nearly reached the halfway point of my stated goal of 30 courses this summer!
