HAMPDEN — RBI singles by Timmy Mains and Kenzie Souders highlighted a six-run outburst in the third inning as Edward Little finished even in the regular season with a 10-4 baseball victory over Hampden Aademy on Monday.
The Red Eddies (8-8) used timely hitting and took full advantage of walks and errors. The third inning outburst was aided by four walks and an error.
All 11 EL hits were singles.
Winning pitcher Luke Farrago and Mains each had three hits, while Souders added a pair of singles.
Nolan Turner hit a triple for Hampden (6-10).
Bangor 10. Lewiston 3
LEWISTON — Joe Stanke-vicz fired a four-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead unbeaten Bangor to a 10-3 victory over Lewiston in their KVAC baseball season finale Monday.
The Rams (16-0) broke the game open with four runs in the seventh inning.
The game was tight for six innings with Bangor clinging to a 6-3 advantage. Kyle Savage’s two-run homer had given the Rams a 6-1 lead in the fifth inning, but the Blue Devils (10-6) immediately answered with two runs in its half of the fifth to keep the margin within three runs.
Chris Jacques hit a triple and Jeff Keene had a double for Lewiston.
Softball
Edward Little 8, Hampden 5
HAMPDEN — Kayla Nadeau drove in a pair of runs with a double to lead Edward Little to an 8-5 triumph over Hampden in their KVAC regular-season finale Monday.
The Broncos (5-11) scored twice in the first inning, but the Red Eddies (12-4) responded with four runs in the second to take command. Nadeau’s double highlighted the outburst. Another run scored on Kayla Cummings’ bases-loaded walk.
Miranda Martin allowed six hits for the win. Ashley Danforth, Katherine Gilio and Brittany Luetjen each hit a double for Hampden.
Bangor 29, Lewiston 1
LEWISTON — Helped by six errors and four walks, unbeaten Bangor scored 14 runs in the first inning en route to a 29-1 triumph over Lewiston in their regular-season finale.
The Blue Devils (0-16) scored its run in the first inning when Olivia Cote walked, stole second and scored on a single by Katie Dumais.
Hannah Lust had two triples for Bangor (16-0).
