Maine’s gubernatorial primary election is a week away and a recent poll shows many, many Maine voters are still undecided about who they are going to vote for. Cue the endorsements.

On Sunday, the Maine Today Media group endorsed Democrat Pat McGowan and Republican Steve Abbott.

On Tuesday afternoon, Libby Mitchell’s campaign touted an endorsement from popular Maine House Speaker Hannah Pingree.

“I respect all of the Democrats running in this primary and will support the winner enthusiastically. But for this primary, my choice is not difficult. I will not only vote for Libby, I will work as hard as I can to make sure she is our nominee,” Pingree wrote in an e-mail to Maine Democratic voters.

Mitchell worked closely with Pingree in the State House during the past two legislative sessions. In the current legislature Mitchell served as Senate president and Pingree the House speaker, and in the previous session each served as majority leader, Mitchell in the Senate and Pingree in the House.
