POLAND — For the first time since adopting a Residential Growth Ordinance in 1979, the town of Poland has reached its maximum allowable growth for the year.
The ordinance limits the total number of residential building permits the town may issue each year to 35, of which 26 are allocated for non-speculation units and nine for speculation.
A “non-speculation house” is defined as “a dwelling unit built for a known customer who intends to reside there.” A speculation house is a “unit built for sale to the general public and not as a part of a contractual arrangement with a known customer who intends to reside there.”
