Editors note: In a May 28 graphic showing salary increases for Auburn School Department administrators, some of the names were included in the union category and others were put in the non-union category incorrectly. The information was incorrectly edited by the Sun Journal. The graphic with the correct information appears below.

In addition, the increase in the amount administrators will pay for health care under the new contract was not included. Administrators now contribute 10 percent of their of premium, with taxpayers paying 90 percent. In the new contract those who keep their spouses on their plans will spend 20 percent (if the spouse has no other option), or 30 percent (if their spouse does have another option.) For an administrator with two adults on his or her plan, the annual cost will go from $1,429 to $2,915 (20 percent) or $4,373. Administrators received either step or small raises to cover the health care costs. The immediate impact of the contract to taxpayers is flat, but the long-term impact could mean more savings as more spouses move off the health insurance and onto their employer’s.
