LEWISTON — The singing group Just Us, whose motto is “if it’s not fun, we won’t do it,” will perform Saturday, June 12, at the Franco-American Heritage Center.

The group will perform a variety of musical numbers, including “Singin’ In The Rain,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Drunken Sailor,” “We are Family,” and “Unforgettable.”

Just Us was the first group to perform at the Franco center at a Christmas concert fundraiser for Festival de Joie, a long-standing Franco-American festival dissolved in 2005.

This year, Just Us will again perform to benefit Festival FrancoFun, scheduled for June 18-20. The group has also performed for numerous veterans benefits and the Cancer Survivor’s Group.

Just Us is made up of entertainers ranging in age up to 74 years young. Members include Abby Asselin, Sarah Noel, Brooke Surette, Nel Meservier, Lorraine Giasson, Jackie Asselin, Anita Dechenes, Lynda Wade, Alexis Noel, Krissy Poulin, Melissa Noel, Rose Fredericks, Shelly Page, Norm Laplante, Sue Rouleau, Marcel St. Pierre, Debbie Poulin, Ray Berube, Paul Jalbert, Mike Barrett and Doris Surette. Some are proud to have their children and grandchildren in the group.

The name, Just Us, was first adopted in 1999 when members were having difficulty choosing a name and one member commented, “It’s just us singing.” Two years later, the group incorporated as The Just Us Entertainers Inc.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, $9, may be purchased by calling 689-2000 or online at www.francoamericanheritage.org.
