100 years ago, 1910

The Windsor Mineral Spring near Montello Heights under the management of W. H. Drew of Boston is being put in first-class condition. The spring, which is one of the finest, is carefully housed and graded from all possible impurity. The bottling arrangements are also entirely sanitary and a visit to the spring makes one very sure that Windsor Spring water is as near perfect as one could wish.

50 years ago, 1960

Edward Little High School graduation exercises will be held at 8 o’clock tonight at Lewiston Memorial Armory. The five top-ranking honor students who will give addresses are Susan Chapin, David Piper, Carlene Lane, Irwin Shiffer and Nina Mae Miles.

The school band and glee club will participate in the program highlighted by the presentation of awards and diplomas by Principal Arnold G. Westerberg.

25 years ago 1985

Philips Elmet Corp. hosted a number of visitors Thursday at a luncheon and open house at its expanded Lisbon Road plant.

Richard C. Hill, mechanical engineering professor at the University of Maine at Orono, spoke at the luncheon.

Philips Elmet’s industrial relations director, Joseph Bousquet, gave an overview of the plant’s $17-million expansion and the company’s strategy for success.
