BIDDEFORD — Attorney General Janet Mills says a grand jury has indicted the former president of Biddeford’s popular La Kermesse festival on four counts of theft.

Mills said Wednesday the York County grand jury indicted 70-year-old Priscille Gagnon, who is accused of misusing funds from 2004 to this year from both the festival and from a condominium association for which she served as treasurer. The total amount of the thefts is alleged to exceed $10,000.

The La Kermesse festival has been held in Biddeford for 27 years as an annual celebration of Maine’s Franco-American heritage.
