PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The parents and sister of the victim of a home invasion in Maine’s biggest city are asking for the public’s helping in finding those responsible.

The parents of Darien Richardson joined Portland Police Chief James Craig as he detailed efforts to find the two masked gunman who shot Richardson and a friend on Jan. 8.

The 25-year-old Richardson, who was asleep when the intruders burst in, was wounded in the upper thigh and thumb.

She was treated for her wounds but she died in February in Florida. An autopsy showed she died from a blood clot caused by a gunshot wound.
