Legion to meet
AUBURN — Members of the American Legion Post 31 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 14. The Auxiliary will meet at their usual time.
‘Weeds’ workshop
LEWISTON — An “Eat Your Weeds” workshop will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 14, at the Franklin Pasture Community Garden near the corner of Jefferson and Birch streets, behind Lewiston High School.
Participants will practice identifying some common weeds that might grow in a garden and learn which ones are good to eat. To sign up for the workshop, contact Bridgette at Lots to Gardens at 513-3844 or [email protected]. A suggested donation of $5 to $20 will help cover materials and support Lots to Gardens programs, but anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend.
Church concert
AUBURN — The Riverside Baptist Church, 1085 Riverside Drive will have Berean sacred music concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 13. Chris and Carol Shafer from Waterbury, Conn., will present singing, instrumentals, scripture and testimonies. The public is invited.
Anniversary celebration
TOPSHAM — The Cathance River Education Alliance will celebrate its 10th anniversary from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 19, with a day of hiking, Ecology Center tours and games for children of all ages. Alliance members will also have opportunities for golf and dinner featuring live music, dynamic speakers and the debut of a new documentary on Merrymeeting Bay, featuring CREA’s Environmental Youth Leaders.

VFW to meet
LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center. All officers and members are invited to attend. Country music show
LITCHFIELD — The Down East Country Music Association will host a show from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Litchfield Sportsman Club, Hallowell Road. The entertainment will include South Of Santa Fe, Mike Ferrucci, Fred Coreverette and Country Gentlemen, Sandy Wardwell Lynch, Gary Leet and Cal and Betty.
