LISBON — The following courses will be offered at Lisbon Adult and Community Education during the summer:
Becoming an Adult Education Instructor: Learn to share talents or passions with others. Class will start at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7.
Computers for Beginners: The eight-week class will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning July 6.
Substitute Teacher Training: Attendees will learn about substitute teaching in the Lisbon school system. The three-week course will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays, beginning July 12.
Academic classes will also be offered for those who are completing their high school diploma or those trying to refresh their memories for college placement tests, algebra 1, English literature and composition. There is also a GED Preparation and Study Skills class, a GED Testing Thursday block, GED Testing Tuesday block and PLATO Lab will be on Thursdays.
Tutors are also available to work one-on-one with people who may have difficulty with reading, writing and math or have difficulty speaking English.
General enrichment classes will be offered on gender, astronomy, genealogy, tarot angel cards or vehicle education. Many of the enrichment classes will start at the beginning of July and run from one night a week to two nights a week.
