AUBURN – American Concrete slugged out a pair of Auburn Suburban Little League minor division wins in the past week.
Austin Brown belted an inside-the-park home run in a 12-2 victory over Pat’s Pizza. Tyler Jalbert, Bobby Tremaine, Joey Leavitt, Anson Perry, Sebastian Sirois and Liam Flynn also scored runs for American. Ben Cassidy and Marshall Chadbourne crossed the plate for Pat’s. Jake Arel and Brown each made a nice grab in the field for American, with Cassidy and Hunter Fisher returning the favor for Pat’s.
American also rolled over Hudson Bus, 10-1. Arel, Sirois, Brown, Leavitt, Perry, Nathan Bartsheand Bobby Tremain scored for American. Colby Perrault drove home Dan Milks to produce Hudson’s run. Milks of Hudson and Leavitt of American each showed their fielding skills with fine catches in the outfield.
Dillingham and Son disrupted American’s winning streal with a 10-9 verdict. Dylan Sellinger and John Kozkodan had three hits apiece for Dillingham. Tristan Stevens added two hits.
Leavitt caught three consecutive fly balls at first base in one stretch for American. Marius Morneau also delivered a defensive gem. Leavitt and Sirois each belted a triple.
Storm Jipson and Giles Paradie led Dillingham’s offense in a 12-2 victory over Hammond Lumber. Paradie smacked six hits, while Jipson chalked up four. Boden Dock scored five runs. Jacob Schofield led Hammond with a pair of hits. Spencer Morrill led Lumber’s defense.
Rowe Ford picked up a hard-fought 10-4 victory over Hudson Bus in ASLL minors. Robbie Marcotte led the Rowe offense with three hits and three runs scored. Nick Martinez and Christian Anderson chipped in two hits and a run apiece. Noah Perreault led Hudson with three hits. Rowe rallied late after Hudson led 3-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning.
Auburn Firefighters prevailed 6-3 over East Auburn in ASLL major division play. AFF used five pitchers in the six-inning contest, with Eli Thibodeau earning the save.
AFF broke open a 2-2 tie with three runs in the fifth inning on hits by Tyler Blanchard, Caleb Yarnevich and Austin Cox. AFF’s Cooper Mowry chipped in on defense with an important catch. AFF sealed the win with a difficult infield exchange between Cox at shortstop and catcher Yarnevich at first base.
East Auburn’s Joe Cooper pitched four strong innings and scored the game’s first run. Llewellyn Jensen and Matt Verrill closed out the pitching responsibilities. Each also scored a run for East Auburn.
ASLL Softball
AUBURN – Pepsi ran its record to 13-1 in ASLL major division softball with a 7-4 victory over Rotary. Kylie Martin struck out 12 and collected three hits. Abby Newcomb and Sarah Bolduc had two hits eachy. Sarah Hammond pitched for Rotary. Olivia Paione led Rotary’s attack with three hits.
