FARMINGTON — A yard and bake sale, with fresh picked strawberries, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, corner of Main and Academy streets.
Book sale
NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19. Paperback books will be 25 cents each or $3 for a bag. Hardcover books will be 50 cents each or $6 a bag. Craft and decorating magazines will be 12 for $1.
Proceeds will be used to benefit the library programs. For more information, call the library at 779-1128.
Parent workshop
FARMINGTON — The Maine Parent Federation and the Franklin County Children’s Task Force will offer “Can you hear me now?,” a workshop that provides an up close and personal look at advocacy and communication skills.
The workshop will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Franklin County Children’s Task Force.
Participants will discover how to be more assertive without becoming aggressive and will learn to recognize signals such as body language. There is a $20 stipend for parents who attend. Child care and dinner will be provided. Call 778-6960 for more information and to register.
Bicycle safety
JAY — The Jay VFW, 64 Jewell St., will hold a bicycle safety course for ages 6 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
Website unveiling
FARMINGTON — The Center for Community GIS and Healthy Community Coalition will host an informational meeting to unveil the website www.MaineTrailFinder.com on Friday, June 18, at the Center for Community GIS office, 155 Main St.
The presentation will be from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Drop-in hours to learn more about the website will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Maine Trail Finder is a free, interactive mapping site that helps residents and visitors find nonmotorized trails in the state.
