Construction work is well underway on a new parking area at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. “As our enrollment has continued to grow, so has the need for additional parking,” said Roger Philippon, dean of planning and public affairs at the college. Enrollment at CMCC has more than doubled since 2001 and is expected to reach almost 3,000 students this fall. The new lot, which will be located adjacent to Rancourt Hall, at left, will provide 100 additional parking spaces. Other campus improvements underway this summer include renovations to Fortin Hall and Jalbert Hall and the addition of a new fitness facility in Kirk Hall.
