LEWISTON — L/A Arts invites Maine artists to submit up to four pieces of artwork for the “Colors of Hope” exhibit, an art show to be mounted in conjunction with the Dempsey Challenge this fall.

While this exhibit complements the efforts of The Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing and encourages artists to reflect upon their art as an expression of hope, artists need not have a connection/experience with cancer.

“Colors of Hope” will be displayed in L/A Arts’ Gallery 5 at 49 Lisbon St., as well as L/A Arts’ Community Gallery at 221 Lisbon St., two blocks away. The exhibit will run from Friday, Aug. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 9.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, July 5.

Work must be submitted as .jpg images on a CD, be accompanied by a $10 submission fee, and delivered to the L/A Arts office at 221 Lisbon St. The exhibit will be juried and artists will be notified of selections within a week of the submission deadline.

A submission form and guidelines are available at www.laarts.org. For more information, call L/A Arts at 782-7228 or curator Jeanelle Demers at [email protected].
