Library program
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will host Chef Dara Reimers of The Bread Shack in Auburn to present an illustrated talk about her recent trip to Paris, France, to compete in the Masters de la Boulangerie event. The free presentation will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, in the library’s Marsden Hartley Cultural Center.

Golf lessons
AUBURN — The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department will offer golf lessons for beginner to intermediate players, ages 8 to 16, looking to expand their knowledge and skill in the sport. Lessons will be held at Fox Ridge Golf Course with club professional Bob Darling.
Registrations will commence once interest has been shown by at least 10 participants. Balls and tees will be provided; golfers must bring their own clubs. The program is scheduled to start Aug. 3. Film screening
LEWISTON — The Rev. Douglas Taylor will show the film “The Obama White House Radicals” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Jesus Party headquarters, 291 Bates St.

Dance video
AUBURN — People will gather to dance their version of Shakira’s “Waka Waka,” the official song of the World Cup, at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Festival Plaza. Anyone who wishes to be a part of the group’s official video on YouTube is welcome to attend.
Cynthia Nicholas, local Zumba instructor, will lead the event in response to Shakira’s campaign, 1Goal: Education For All. It is not a performance, but a gathering to video tape the dance and support the cause.
Pine Cone Chapter
AUBURN — A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The officers will do degrees. Judith A. Wilkie, worthy grand matron, will be in the east. John E. Wardwell, past grand patron, will be associate patron and Stephanie Dupal, associate grand matron, will be associate conductress.
All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the new members. Refreshment will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.
Association meeting
LEWISTON — The United New Auburn Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Rolly’s Diner. An update on items from the previous meetings and upcoming events will be discussed.
Upcoming events include Cruiz Nite, a neighborhood barbecue and the downtown history walk in New Auburn scheduled for early September.
There were 30 cars and trucks at the previous Cruiz Nite and about 75 neighbors came out to view them. The next Cruiz Nite will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25, weather permitting.
