LEWISTON — Mat Gordon threw five perfect innings and got plenty of offensive support as Gayton blanked Bethel-Locke Mills, 11-0, in a Zone III American Legion game shortened to five innings by the 10-run mercy rule.

Gordon fanned nine while facing the minimum 15 batters. Scott Ouellette belted a two-run home run and Scott Ouellete a three-run bomb for Gayton (9-1).

Hyde finished with three-hits while Ouellette and Corbin Hyde contributed two hits apiece to lead Gayton’s 10-hit attack.
