Public supper

JAY — A free public supper will be held Saturday, July 10, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Main Street. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and supper will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include barbecue beef on a bun, vegetables, bread, drink and desserts.

The handicapped accessible elevator is located inside the rear door. Donations are welcome, but not necessary. Supplies are also needed. To donate supplies, call 779-6951.

Hunter safety

OQUOSSOC — The Rangeley Region Guides’ and Sportsmen’s Association will sponsor a free firearms hunter safety training program from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, Aug. 2, 3, 9 and 10. Students must attend all four days to successfully complete the training.

Classes will be held at the RRGSA Clubhouse on Old Skiway Road. New hunters must complete the course to obtain a first time hunting license. Contact River’s Edge Sports at 864-5582 or Rusty Harvey at 864-2392 to register and for additional information.

Farmers’ market

WAYNE — The Town of Wayne farmers’ market will continue from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, at the Town Green next to the Post Office, Main Street. Eleven vendors are selling vegetables, baked goods, milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, wool, goats milk soap, eggs, herbs, perennials and flowers.

There will be music by Stan Davis of Wayne on July 10. The next children’s day with activities will take place Aug. 7. For more information, visit waynefarmersmarket.weebly.com.

Founders Day

SALEM — The annual Salem Founders Day event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Salem Fire Department. There will be games, an auction, a cookout and A&E’s Hill Country Music.

The event is sponsored by the Salem Fire Department and the Pine Tree Club.

Parenting class

FARMINGTON — A Kids First Program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The co-parenting education workshop for parents is designed to help address problems and reduce the negative effects of separation and divorce. Participants are encouraged to attend the program as early in the separation and divorce as possible.
