LEWISTON — Doris Parent Roy, 88 of Lewiston, went to be with the Lord and joined family and friends on July 11, with her family by her side.

She was born in Berlin, N.H., July 23, 1921, the daughter of Eugene and Emerilda Thibeault Parent. Her family moved to Pigeon Hill in Mechanic Falls, where she met her husband Paul Eugene Roy. They later moved to Lewiston, where together they raised their two children.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and sewing beautiful clothes. She and her husband enjoyed their favorite spot at Reid State Park as often as possible. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Doris was loved and has touched the lives and hearts of many. She will be sadly missed and always remembered.

Doris leaves behind a daughter, Pauline Durant of Lewiston; a son, Michael Roy and wife; Debra; also of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Emmie Tracy and husband, Chad, of Bangor, Adam Durant and wife, Jennifer, of Mechanic Falls, Jennifer Durant of Sterling, Va., Christopher Roy of Old Town and Christine Beaucage and husband, Chip, of Lewiston; eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Thomas, Emily, and Daniel Tracy of Bangor, Benjamin, Abigail, and Nicholas Beaucage of Lewiston, and the newest great-grandchild, Brandon Durant of Mechanic Falls; two sisters, Jeanne Magher and Therese LeRoux of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; nephew, Richard Parent of Mechanic Falls; several nieces and nephews in New York; and a former daughter-in-law, Rachel Roy DeBlois.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Paul Roy; son-in-law, Richard Durant; two brothers, Henry and Paul Parent; and three sisters, Margaret Roy, Rita Caron and Marie Parent.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Marshwood Center of Lewiston and to her friend Helen Field.
