AUBURN — Fernand G. Goulet, 79, of 34 Mary St., Lewiston, died Sunday, July 11, at the Hospice House following a long illness.
Born in Lewiston, July 13, 1930, a son of the late Wilfred and Elmire Bilodeau Goulet. He was educated in Lewiston schools graduating from Lewiston High School, Class of 1949. He served in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from USM in Portland with a degree in business.
Mr. Goulet was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and owned and operated the Flamingo Inn on Lisbon Street for 23 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and snowmobiling and cars. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Fern will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and the love he showed to his family.
He is survived by his wife, the former Micheline Vallieres of Lewiston, whom he married July 2, 1962; two daughters, Deborah Jalbert and husband, Edward, of Lewiston and Diane L. Goulet of Lewiston; a son, Thomas Goulet and wife, Doreen, of Wales; his son-in-law, Shawn Dube of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Nathan Cyr, Tyler Roy, Nicholas Jalbert, Abby Goulet, Sadie Goulet, Noah Jalbert and Brandon Dube; a great-granddaughter, Haylee Cyr; his brothers-in-law, Lucien Vallieres, Richard Vallieres and wife, Gloria and Gilles Vallieres and wife, Charlotte; a sister-in-law, Theresa Goulet; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Marie Dube; his brother, Maurice Goulet; and his parents.
