SOUTH PARIS — Open registration has begun for fall semester courses at Central Maine Community College, including the 23 classes being offered in Oxford County.
In addition to 15 courses at the Western Maine University and Community College Center in South Paris, several courses are also being delivered at Telstar Regional High School and Region 9 School of Applied Technology in Bethel.
Michelle Hawley, admissions representative and coordinator at the WMUCC, said that they have a large number of students from Oxford County enrolled in degree programs at CMCC .
The fall semester starts the week of Aug. 30 and will continue through the third week of December. Each course carries three college credits that can be applied toward a CMCC degree or certificate or, in many cases, transferred to other accredited colleges and universities. The cost for tuition and fees is between $312 and $336.
Among the courses at the Western Maine center (www.wmucc.net) this fall are Intro to Computers, Principles of Marketing, Music Appreciation, Maine History, Intro to Ethics and Intro to Psychology.
Public Speaking, College Writing, Business Math and Intro to Sociology will be offered at Telstar; Interpersonal Communications, Intro to Literature and Intermediate Algebra will be delivered at Region 9.
