Between 7 a.m. Friday, July 9, and 7 a.m. Friday, July 16, Lewiston police responded to 726 calls for service. Of those, 124 were motor vehicle stops.

Motor Vehicle Burglaries
A vehicle parked at Facing Change at 4 Park St. was burglarized sometime prior to 5:30 p.m. on July 15.
A vehicle parked at 40 Bartlett St. was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on July 13. A purse was taken from inside.
A vehicle parked at 135 Vale St. was burglarized overnight July 14 – July 15. Property was taken from inside.
A vehicle parked at ACS at 40 East Ave. was burglarized prior to 12:17 a.m.on July 15. A bag of tennis rackets was taken from inside.
A vehicle parked at Howard and Walnut streets was burglarized prior to 3 a.m. on July 14. A stereo was taken from inside.
A vehicle parked at 30 Coburn St. was burglarized overnight July 10 – July 11. A Cobra radar detector was taken from inside.
Charles Bussiere, 22, Devin Charest, 19, and Tracy Tarbox, 37, had all been charged with motor vehicle burglary and theft over the course of the two previous days. Bussiere and Charest were picked up in Lewiston on July 14 at 1:50 a.m. after officers stopped them on bicycles in an area where residents had complained of seeing people going through their vehicles. Police said a search of Bussiere’s backpack revealed a car stereo and numerous tools that had been taken from vehicles in the vicinity of 17 Sylvan Ave. Charest was in possession of property that had also been taken from these cars, according to police. Both subjects were also riding bicycles suspected of having been stolen.
Charest made bail on July 14 and was arrested again that night on Williams Road in Sabattus along with Tracy Tarbox. Tarbox locked herself in a Porta-Potty and emptied the contents of her purse into it, police said. A search of the Porta-Potty revealed numerous stolen GPS units, a radar detector and an MP3 player.
Thefts
A brown and white Mongoose bicycle with black pegs was stolen from 21 Summer St. sometime overnight July 13 – July 14.
A laptop computer was stolen from the Pain and Headache Center at the Trolley Medical Building at 77 Bates St. sometime prior to 6 p.m. on July 13.
A nail gun was stolen from Advantage Gas and Tool at 44 Hammond St. sometime prior to 3:30 p.m. on July 9.
A purple Next 20-inch bicycle was stolen from 120 Hogan Road sometime overnight July 13 – July 14.
A vehicle parked at the George Weston bakery at 24 Landry Road had a catalytic converter cut off sometime between July 12 at 9 p.m. and – July 13 at 2 a.m.
A customer of Cumberland Farms at 701 Main St. had her cell phone stolen from the counter on July 9 between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
A vehicle parked at Deblois Electric at 1033 Sabattus St. had a catalytic converter cut off sometime overnight July 11 – July 12.
A resident of the John F. Murphy Home at 23 Pleasant St. had money taken from them sometime between July 9 and July 13.
A bicycle was stolen from Albert’s Variety at 124 Bartlett St. on July 11 prior to 4:30 p.m.
A vehicle parked at Lincoln and Chestnut streets had a catalytic converter stolen off from it sometime prior to 7:30 p.m. on July 14.
A bicycle was stolen from outside of 64 Oxford St. overnight July 12 – July 13.
Operating After Suspension
Tyler Frazer, 21, was charged with operating while license suspended and violating conditions of release on July 11 at 1:13 a.m. at Howe and Ash streets.
Jessica Tripp, 34, was charged with operating while license suspended on July 12 at 2:24 p.m. at 27 East Ave.
