LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday for Mr. Richard A. Hebert at Holy Cross Church following prayers at The Fortin Group Funeral Home. Monsignor Marc Caron officiated, assisted by Brother Irenee Richard O.P. and they recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum.

The procession included the staff, trucks and crane from Hebert Construction, escorted by the Auburn and Lewiston police departments. The reading was proclaimed by Maurice Moreau, prayer of the faithful by Cecile Costello, offertory gifts were brought to the altar by his brother-in-law Fern Fournier and his wife, Anita, and the eulogy was given by his nephew, Tim Hebert. A drive by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center where Mr. Hebert was once chairman of the board was held and a large number of the staff from the Sisters of Charity Health Care System campus were lined across the hospital to pay tribute to the family.

Military honors were provided by the Maine Funeral Honors Program. The casket bearers were Tim Hebert, Lucien, Steve, and Michael Richard, William Desmarais and Roger Gervais. Online guestbook may be viewed at www.thefortingroupauburn.com.
