DEAR SUN SPOTS: My basset hound Samantha and I are a therapy dog team. While I am here in the summer, we visit the Market Square facility in South Paris, where people enjoy seeing her woebegone expression and her long ears. She loves seeing everyone.

I am also a tester/observer for Therapy Dogs Inc., a group based in Cheyenne, Wyo., which registers and insures therapy dog teams. I would be happy to discuss what therapy dog work entails and to test and observe anyone who is interested.

TDI does not require the Canine Good Conduct certificate, but it does require that interested teams meet with a tester/observer for a short test and then complete a minimum of three visits and observations to a medical facility, nursing home, hospital, etc.

I would be happy to chat with anyone who would like further information about therapy dog work. I can be reached at 743-8422. — Marjorie Ferguson, Otisfield

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the person (D.G.) looking for some therapy dog training or for contact information, Linda Morris, mentioned in the Sun Spots’ response, can be reached at PETCO in Auburn. — J. L. via e-mail

ANSWER: I knew some Sun Spots’ readers would come through for D.G.! Thank you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was wondering if there were any additional photos from the Moxie parade. It was my husband’s first parade as a Shriner. Do you have any pictures of the Kora Krazy Kops and the paddy wagon? He was riding in the back. I would be willing to buy a print if there is one of him available. Thanks. — Denise Ricker, dricker@megalink.net, 576-8798

ANSWER: Russ Dillingham, the Sun Journal’s chief photographer, came up with one photo of the Kora Krazy Kops, which he e-mailed to Denise. Hopefully her husband is among those pictured.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking too see if any race fan who went to the TD Bank 250 on July 18 happened to video the race and would be willing to sell a copy of it? Please respond to bmbracing@gmail.com. Thank you. — Natalie, Mechanic Falls

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have acquired a man’s class ring from Mexico High School Class of 1979 with the initials S.T.R. inscribed on the inner ring. Being an antiques dealer and buying from many sources, I am not sure where it was purchased. Does anyone know who this may belong to? Please e-mail me at 55atoz@myfairpoint.net so it can be returned. Thanks. — Dale, Livermore Falls

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for a free/cheap pair of real firefighter’s boots, at least a man’s size 6 or 7 (bigger is OK) and a real helmet.

My son has been diagnosed with borderline Asperger’s syndrome. One of the characteristics of this condition is an obsession with a particular subject. My son’s is firemen. He often wears his winter boots and a plastic hat which is much too small for him.

If any fire companies have gear that is no longer safe for real fire use but would be suitable to play in, please give me a call at 562-4926. Marden’s in Biddeford has the boots, but they are $128, and they don’t have helmets. Thank you. Hopefully, someone will make Franklyn’s day! — Laurie Taylor, Dixfield
