The University of Maine Cooperative Extension recently offered Money Camp, an introduction to the basics of money, marketing and business with a workshop series geared towards youth, to 4-H participants. Campers explored the concepts of being an entrepreneur, savings, credit, insurance, product liability, licensing, writing a business plan and marketing. 4-H youth projects included baby-sitting, compost, cosmetics and blueberry pies. One 4-H member is pictured selling handmade cards at local farmers market. To learn more about 4-H, contact a local University of Maine Cooperative Extension office.
