Mechanics Savings Bank recently donated art prints depicting the Great Falls to the cities of Lewiston and Auburn and to the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce. The signed, limited edition prints are scaled-down copies of an original painting by Pownal artist Lois Strickland. Strickland created the large-scale painting in triptych style for Mechanics Savings Bank last year. The original now hangs behind the teller line at the bank’s 100 Minot Ave. location. Bank President and CEO Rick Vail presented the prints to Lewiston Mayor Laurent Gilbert, Auburn Mayor Richard Gleason and Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce President Chip Morrison at a Business After Hours hosted at the Auburn branch. From left are Vail, Strickland, Morrison and Mechanics Savings Bank Board President Jon Oxman.
