WALES — Members of Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, for their official visitation with the grand conductress, Carolyn R. Landry.
The worthy matron and secretary will meet with Landry an hour before the meeting, to allow her time to inspect the records.
At the last meeting in July, 63 members and visitors enjoyed the ESTARL supper and meeting honoring the grand chaplains from Maine and New Hampshire. Also present were Judith A. Wilkie, worthy grand matron and Edwin A. DeWitt, worthy grand patron of Maine; three General Grand Chapter Committee members, including Robert P. Brown, credentials, past grand patron; Bertha M. Cadigan, International Temple, past grand matron; and Jane J. Simms, Eastern Star Journal, past grand matron of New Hampshire; several past grand matrons and patrons, grand officers and other dignitaries. More than $150 was raised for the ESTARL scholarships.
The travelling emblem, “Mustang Sally,” was “captured” by Electa Chapter in Bowdoinham. Electa had nine members visiting.
Lakeside’s officers are reminded that ladies are requested to wear colored gowns and gentlemen tuxedos or dark suits.
