Adult ed registration

AUBURN – Auburn Adult and Community Education has announced the registration hours for the fall semester. Walk-in registration for the week of Aug. 9 is from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, Monday to Thursday.

During the weeks of Aug. 16 and 23 registrations will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Call 333-6661 for additional information.

Some courses can be registered online at auburn.maineadulted.org or by calling the number above during office hours.

Dog obedience

AUBURN – Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will begin another six-week dog obedience class on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2- months-old and vaccinated.

The beginner class is at 6:30 p.m. and advanced at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to register, call the club’s trainer Diane Harrington at 784-7578.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Aug. 9th were as follows: first, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second/third tie , Lue Bilodeau and Nancy Farmer with Anna Vitiello and Ed Lee; fourth, Bob Berry and Larry Fortier.

Games are played at 9 a.m. every week and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.

Association meeting

WINTHROP — The annual meeting of the Annabessacook Lake Improvement Association will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Augusta West Kampground.

There will be a pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. followed by a business meeting at 9:15 a.m. Guest speaker will be wildlife biologist Camilla Fecteau talking about loons. Door prizes will be given.
